On October 6th 2016, Oliver Plunkett was elected, by the Caballeros Administration, to helm a new position within the organization, Development Coordinator. The Development Coordinator position is a merger of the open Public Relations Director position and Oliver’s 2016 role as Fundraising Coordinator. Moving forward, Oliver will lead conversations with media outlets to promote the Caballeros organization, identify fundraising opportunities that support the organization, and continue his duties in publishing content on behalf of the Caballeros.
Oliver joined the Caballeros in November of 1998 and has been with the organization ever since. During his time as a marching member, he won Hawthorne Caballeros Brass Player of the Year in 2001 and a DCA Championship in 2003. In the 2010 season, he took the role of assistant drum major – a position that he held for two seasons. His teaching experience includes seven years as a visual technician for the Caballeros, two with the Caballeros Alumni, and numerous high school bands from 2001-2014 (Saddle Brook HS, Middletown HS North, Parsippany Hills HS, Pequannock HS, and Ramsey HS).
Professionally, Oliver has spent the last fourteen years in the advertising industry. Currently he is an Associate Media Director for Deutsch in NYC where he leads campaigns for PNC Bank and M&M’s World. Previously, he led campaigns for Sonos, Panasonic, HBO Latino, and the NY Jets, to name a few.
