Celebrating the glory of youth, the Hawthorne Caballeros proudly introduce our 2012 program: Alegria! Shades of the Heart.

Alegria - an amazing Spanish word for jubilation!

Embracing Alegria, the 2012 Hawthorne Caballeros will explore the energy, grace and power of youth. Based in part on the Cirque Du Soliel® production, Alegria will present the youthful heart in four stages: Joy, Love, Desire and Hope. Incorporating the iconic Caballero Rose, every movement will be introduced with a rose color theme. A yellow rose for Joy; A red rose for Love; A pink rose for Desire and a white rose for Hope.

And each thematic movement will include the color and emotion of the brass and percussion arrangements of Key Poulan and Rob Ferguson. This collaborative team will weave the joyful music of Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, the mysterious and haunting themes from Alegria and emotional and passionate music of Ravel’s Bolero incorporated with the symphonic Latin signature of the Caballeros.

Led by our 2012 Show Coordinator, Rich Templin, the 2012 Design Team will include arrangements written by Brass Arranger Key Poulan, Percussion Arranger, Rob Ferguson, Visual Design created by Eric Robertshaw and Joe Heininger designing the Guard Program. Rich Templin is very excited about the collaboration of the 2012 Design Team and stated that “Alegria is the inspiration of a great design team who has put together a powerful and jubilant program that embraces a unique show concept built from the passion of the Caballeros legacy”.
