“Being a Caballeros is like joining an amazing family. The spirit of being Caballeros is something that I’ve never felt anywhere else, and it’s what keeps bringing me back”

Bryan Burnham is the mellophone section leader. This will be his second year in the Hawthorne Caballeros, first as a section leader. He has previously marched with the Skyliners from 2014 to 2017 as a lead soprano and lead mellophone. Bryan is an associated professor of cognitive science at the University of Scranton (PA), where he has taught for the past 12 years.

“I actually conduct research into working memory and attention (two important things for drum corps!), so it's interesting to think about how my work relates to what I love doing!

I remember watching Cabs when I was growing up (probably saw Josh) and thinking, I'd love to be in their horn line... and now I get to be! Being a Caballero means you are part of a huge family, history, a legacy, and accepting challenges to always be your best. RUMP!”
